They say knowledge is priceless, but let's be real: often the most stressful thing about sorting out your future at university is figuring out how you are going to pay for it all. That is why it is so crucial that you as a student do some strategic, critical thinking to evaluate what you are worth.

Keep in mind, your skills, intellect, volunteerism, interests, ambition, passion and convictions can all increase your worth as a prospective student. Scholarships go to the students who show their prospective universities how they can and will contribute positively to the student body and the institution.

At Canadian Mennonite University (CMU), more than $400,000 is awarded annually in scholarships and bursaries to over half the student body. Here are some of the scholarships and bursaries available at CMU, and how you can sell yourself to Admissions as the best candidate for the cash:

The Redekop School of Business is a progressive institution equipping men and women of faith for leadership in the business world. The RSB emphasizes developing imagination for more daringly ethical practice, and concrete skills for innovation. They are offering a program merit scholarship worth up to $20,000 over four years! Show them you will pay it forward by displaying your commitment to service, justice, and sound practical business.

Not an undergrad? The CMU Graduate School of Theology and Ministry seeks to qualify and inspire women and men for lives of service, leadership, and reconciliation in the church and society. There are nearly a dozen different scholarships/bursaries available for this school with values ranging up to $7,500 depending on your intended area of concentration. Funds are particularly available for students pursuing careers in church ministry. Show them it would be money well spent by demonstrating your faith commitment, church/community service involvement and leadership aptitude.

There are plenty of other scholarships, awards and bursaries available for general undergrads.
