1. Automatically-Awarded Entrance Scholarships
These are awarded automatically to Canadian applicants coming directly from high school and are based on averages beginning at 75%. If you have 95%+ average, you could be awarded FREE tuition! Check out our entrance scholarships chart.

2. Entrance Bursaries
The entrance bursary for Canadian high school applicants is based on financial need and partly on the distance from your hometown to the campus of your choice.

  • Up to $1,500 General + $800 Travel = $2,300
  • Application due April 15, 2014 and June 28, 2014
  • Apply online.

3. Transfer Award
Value: $500-$1,000

  • For Canadian applicants transferring from college or another university
  • Deadline: June 28, 2014
  • Apply online.

4. Presidential Scholarships
Value: $30,000 ($7,500/year for 4 years)

  • For Canadian high school applicants
  • Application due by April 15, 2014
  • Apply online.

5. Campus Tour Bursary Program
Value: up to $500 towards travel expenses for prospective students to visit Lakehead University

  • For Canadian grade 12 high school students who are travelling more than 150 km (one way) to visit the campus.
  • Apply within 3 weeks of your visit. Bursary is applied to your student account.

6. Lakehead University Specialist High Skills Major Award
Value: $500 Award

  • Application due by April 15, 2014
  • Eligible for high school graduates from SHSMs in Environment, Health and Wellness, Mining, Business, Arts and Culture, or Sports
  • Apply online.
