Clubs, resources and support while you study

Established in 1834, the University of Gloucestershire has more than a 175-year history in teaching and education. We have approximately 10,000 students studying at our three campuses in the county of Gloucestershire. Majors for Bachelors degrees range from Animal Biology to English Literature, Television Production to Law.

Alongside your study you need to set aside time to relax and have fun; at the University of Gloucestershire there is plenty to keep you occupied! The Students’ Union offers a variety of sports clubs and societies to cater to each individual and you can even set up your own if you have a great idea. The Students’ Union is also in place to represent you and want to ensure that you get the best quality of teaching and learning possible. Additionally the Students’ Union offers volunteering opportunities, Job Shop for part time employment, student media projects and social events such as the Summer Ball and Freshers’ Week.

As well as the social aspects, we also offer international students a great deal of support from our International Welcome Week, International Student Advisors and the Visa Advice Team. The International Welcome Week offers students the chance to meet new friends, learn about British culture, and find accommodation. Additionally there are trips to places such as Bath and Stonehenge and further trips throughout the year which include London and Oxford. There are also regular trips to local events and events further afield such as theatre, exhibitions and cultural activities.

The area the University is situated in boasts many famous festivals such as the Times Literature Festival, the Gold Cup Horse Racing, Jazz Festival and the Science Festival. There really is something for every individual in the beautiful location of Gloucestershire.
