Established in 1834, the University of Gloucestershire has more than a 175-year history in teaching and education. It has approximately 10,000 students studying at its three campuses in Gloucestershire. Majors for Bachelors degrees range from Animal Biology to English Literature, Television Production to Law. The courses at the University are taught by lecturers with industry experience and many courses involve practical experience as well as theory.

The University is based in the county of Gloucestershire which is 2 hours from London by train and less than 1 hour from Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff and Oxford. Birmingham and Bristol both benefit from having International Airports with low cost flights to Europe. Gloucestershire is a beautiful and safe area that is very popular with tourists because of its classic British Architecture. The region also benefits from having many famous festivals running throughout the year such as The Times Literature Festival. The area has an array of shops, nightclubs, theatres, restaurants, cafes and cinemas and there are also many local events happening throughout the year so there is plenty to do in your spare time.

With many sports clubs, societies and international clubs the University has something to offer every international student. It also has a great support network including International Student Advisors, an International Welcome Week and a Visa Advice team. International Students will attend the International Welcome Week to help settle into the new country and town and meet other students from around the globe. There are many different events to help you learn about British culture, make friends, find accommodation, register with a doctor and visit places such as Stonehenge and Bath.

We look forward to welcoming you to the University of Gloucestershire.
