King’s consistently gets top marks in the Globe and Mail’s Canadian University Report and Maclean’s Canadian University Survey for quality of education and professors, small class sizes, opportunities for hands-on learning and research, and vibrant student life. King’s Admissions Counsellors have a few tips to help you select and apply into a program of study:

Selecting a Program. Here are some things to keep in mind:

  • What are your strengths?
  • Which subjects interest and excite you?
  • Get to know you options. Research available majors and minors.
  • Don’t be afraid to talk to Parents, Teachers, Guidance Counsellors, or Admissions Counsellors about degree and career options, you may learn about opportunities you’ve never considered before.
  • If you can’t nail decide on a program, many schools offer an Undeclared program where you can take one or two years of general courses in a variety of areas before declaring a major!

Admission Requirements can vary depending on the program. Also your Grade 11 courses will affect courses you can take in Grade 12, so consult school websites on admission requirements early on.

Competitive Admission? King’s does not have competitive admission, but many schools do. Competitive admission averages are often higher than the general admission average and can vary by program. Look through school websites carefully.

Free Applications. The cost of applying to multiple schools can add up, but many schools offer free applications on select days. King’s Campus Visit Events are great opportunities to check out the campus and receive a free application!
