Applying to a college or university can be incredibly stressful and emotional. When applying to a post-secondary school one often finds themselves feeling scared, nervous, tense or excited; you name it! When feeling this plethora of emotions it’s important to remember to take time going through the process of school applications. Here are three quick methods to ensure your post-secondary application process goes smoothly and (hopefully) stress-free!

  1. Don’t procrastinate!
This seems obvious, but we all know how easy it is to leave things to the last minute. Having a thoroughly completed application is important to the application officers who want to see that you’ve put time and effort into compiling your application. One word answers and hastily written essays about “Why I Want to Go to Blank University” don’t cut it.
  2. Fill out your applications and review it later.
If you followed the first step, you should have plenty of time to fill our applications out fully with enough time to let it resonate within your brain. You might remember something you forgot to include, or you might find that you need a transcript that could take a few days to process. Allowing extra time for tedious processes can save you application!
  3. Have a family member or friend assess your applications
With all that extra time you saved not procrastinating over your applications, you should still have time to allow a friend or family member review your applications for you. They might have some worthwhile contributions to your application that could gain you a spot at your dream college!

Brighton College has intake dates year-round which means you can apply when it’s convenient for you! Visit us at www.brightoncollege.com to find out about our programs or call 604-430-5608 to speak with an educational adviser today!
