Now that you’ve chosen the school that meets your personal needs, you will need to submit an application.

Ontario universities, like Algoma University, require students applying directly from high school to submit their applications through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC). The deadline to apply is January 15, 2014. Be sure to apply early, however, to ensure there is ample time to properly submit your application, avoiding any last minute panic due to technical difficulties. We advise you to apply in late November or early December.

In addition to applying through the OUAC site, students must be aware that specific programs have different application requirements. For students in our visual Fine Arts and Music programs, for example, students are required to submit either a portfolio or perform a playing test. Please contact info@algomau.ca for more information about program specific requirements. It is also important to keep in mind that each program has specific entrance averages and course prerequisites required for admission.

After you have submitted your application, you will hear from an Admissions Advisor within one week of applying to inform you that we have received your application and we’re currently reviewing it. We will review your application on an individual basis to determine your eligibility for scholarships and/or bursaries, your housing needs, and other unique elements of your application. Each application gets personal attention and careful consideration.

Before you know it, you’ll be walking around campus, ready to take your first class at Algoma U!
