Continuing onto further study at any level can be a daunting process, particularly when looking to study abroad. As well as considering where to study and which subjects to take, students are increasingly faced with the dilemma of what to include in their personal statements with many opting to enlist the help of templates and cut and paste phrases.

With an increasing number of students applying to study Law programs here at the University of Lincoln, our admissions team are well trained in knowing what to look out for in successful study application to the subject. From highlighting personal interest in the subject to demonstrating possible future career and life ambitions, a successful application effectively ‘sells’ the candidates abilities, allowing an admissions officer to fully understand a potential students possible contribution to the course.

Thanks to collaborative industry links and employer led course content here at Lincoln, the majority of our courses are contemporary and practical in nature, with student participation in debates, discussions and presentations a key element of all our law syllabus’.  Taking into account our student centred course curriculum, excellent communication skills both aural and written are vital for the successful applicant, with the personal statement allowing the student to demonstrate such personal strengths through the sharing of past experiences and future goals.

As with applications of any nature, it’s important that the information given is concise but easily digestible, that being said its always worthwhile creating several drafts and having an extra person check through them for mistakes.
