Whether you’re in high school or have begun a new school year at University or College – now is the time to make sure you kick it off on the right foot.

Study hard. It goes without saying that you need to attend your classes and pay attention during them! It’s also incredibly helpful if you stay organized right from the start and keep track of your assignment deadlines and exam dates. Know what you have to do and by when, and schedule time to ensure you get it all done. Spend some time searching online for free study guides, to review study tips and to access free study tools. And don’t go at it alone if you have trouble staying focused. If you find yourself really struggling with a particular class – find a tutor. If group settings work for you, arrange a study group with some friends so you can all stay on track and support each other throughout the year.

Play hard! Maintaining a good study-life balance is important to your overall health. While your studies are the priority, it’s important that you also take time out to renew your mind, body and spirit. Your school likely offers a number of activities, sports and other fun events to take part in. Get involved! Regardless of what you like to do in your free time, it’s important that you spend some relaxing time alone as well as some quality time with friends and family.

Apply early! If you’re in your final year of high school, applications are now being accepted for entry into the September 2014 programs at Booth University College.
