Starting at a new university is exciting, especially if you are studying outside of your home country. International students have to adapt to a new place, new culture and perhaps a new language, all at the same time. While your experience will no doubt be exciting and enriching, it may feel daunting and overwhelming at first. It is important to get familiar with your new surroundings as quickly as possible to ensure a smooth transition into the start of your studies. Be sure to find out what support services you can expect from your university as an international student and make the most of your time studying abroad.

At Middlesex University we welcome thousands of new international students each year from over 150 countries. That's why we offer an extensive orientation programme which warmly welcomes new international students to campus and is designed to familiarise you with all aspects of living and studying in London. The programme will provide you with the background information and practical skills you will need to get the most from your stay, as well as provide you with the opportunity to meet other students, make new friends and have fun. In addition, we also offer a two-day Freshers Fair where you can sign up to the University sports teams, join a society of your interest, find out about the campus newspaper and radio station, hear about all the services on offer to students at Middlesex and find out about the variety of social events on-campus throughout the year.

For a true welcome to the University, be sure to attend some of the events happening over the first few weeks of term to get you settled into University, and a chance to meet new friends while you have fun.
