Thompson Rivers University Still has an Open Seat for You!

Sometimes, things just don’t go as planned. But that’s why even our best laid plans have a Plan B to back them up. Maybe you didn’t get into the University of your choice, or maybe you changed your mind and want to go a completely different direction than you originally thought. Either way, you’re covered, even if you don’t have a perfect Plan B because TRU still has a seat for you!

In the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, and Bachelor of Science, TRU has an Open Admission policy, which basically means it’s always “open.” Even though our regular deadline of April 30th has passed, our three big programs always keep seats open. We want every student to have an opportunity to reach their university dream, and that is another reason why TRU does not have competitive admission. We don’t want your high school GPA to limit you, but rather reward you.

Of course, even with Open Admission our programs still have base requirements to achieve, and these can be found online in our TRU Calendar. Still stressing because you are missing something? Relax! That is the other fantastic thing about Open Admission. You can still start the program of your choice and, at the same time, upgrade any courses that you need.

If Arts, Business or Science isn’t where your heart is, most of our Limited Admission programs are also still accepting applications, such as Tourism Management, Digital Art and Design, Architectural and Engineering Technology, Early Childhood Education, Human Service Diploma, Culinary Arts or a trades program. Limited Admission means the programs are filled on a first-come, first-qualified basis.

Unfortunately, our Selective Admission (competitive admission) deadlines have already passed and there is no extra space to fill. But, if you’re looking ahead to 2014, now is a great time to start planning! And, if you’re in Grade 11 right now, get ahead of the game with our Grade 11 Early Application now until June 15, 2013. With Early Application, you’ll receive an earlier registration date for first year university courses. Grade 11 Early Application is valid for Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Computing Science, Bachelor of Natural Resource Science, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Tourism Management, Computer Systems Diploma, Events and Conventions Management Diploma, Resort and Hotel Management Diploma, and Sport Event Management Diploma.
