Columbia CollegeColumbia College recognizes that Plan B is the alternative pathway to becoming academically ready to enter a professional program. Its unique approach has ensured that students do not have to give up their dreams. In fact, Columbia College encourages students to reach for their dreams without compromising these career goals.

Columbia College’s College Prep Program offers students free preparation courses in the areas of English, Math, Biology, and Medical Terminology, including free computer workshops. This core academic foundation holds the key to professional program entry. Students are pre-approved as good candidates for a professional program of their choice and offered only those courses that they need to fill the gaps between what they know and what they need. If they need to take a course more than once, that is allowed without penalty. All a student has to do is work hard and not give up that dream.

This is the Plan B Pathway to Columbia’s Professional Programs licensed by the Private Vocational Training Branch of the Alberta government: Business Management, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Practical Nurse, Health Care Aide and Dental Assistant programs. These accelerated programs make it possible to earn a certificate or diploma in about half the time of similar programs offered elsewhere. Combined with Plan B, Columbia College offers a free week long College Skills for Success course before a student starts their professional program. Plan B can be the key to success!
