It Doesn’t Have to be Expen$ive!!

Choosing a university is already hard as it is, but financing our studies seems even harder! We’ve heard it all so many times before, university is an investment! Finding scholarships and applying for them can seem like a time consuming task, but in the end, trust-me (and the millions of other graduates out there), it is worth-while!

Saint Paul University (SPU), as well as other universities, attracts thousands of dollars each year in order to support students; universities want to help students!

Once you’ve chosen your university, you’re already well on your way of financing your studies. If any advice could be given, here’s what to look for:

Admission Scholarships! You can get up to 4,000$/per year from Saint Paul University for having an excellent average! Even with an average of as low as 75%, you can automatically receive 500$ for the year – and you don’t even have to spend an hour or two filling out yet another 5 page form! You get awesome grades – SPU gives you money – before you know it, you still have money in your bank account.

Work-Study Program! For the avid professional! As hard as you think it may be, working while studying can actually be fun (and you can get your weekends off)! Check out your student portal at www.ustpaul.ca for any chance at working for one of our on-campus department! From mentoring to being an ambassador, students work 10-20 hours a week on-campus in a field they enjoy.

Financial Aid! Based on your financial needs, your community involvement, your curricular activities, someone wants to help you. At Saint Paul University, an individual, an organization or a local employer is willing to give out scholarships! A simple act of kindness can go a long way! Government Financial Aid! Check with your home province, whether you are moving out of your province to come to Ottawa or not, government loans are easy to get! Contact the financial aid department at Saint Paul University!

If you’re willing to find out about these financial aid services at Saint Paul’s, you may end up paying – basically nothing! Do your research – it is well worth your time (and money)!
