Olds CollegeAt Olds College students learn by doing. It’s all about getting an education that prepares you to enter the industry equipped, and we know the best way to do that is by supplying students with a hands-on learning experience. Employers want to know that graduates will be able to step into a position knowledgeable and prepared.

Many of our programs at Olds College involve a practicum or work experience component such as our Fashion Marketing, Farrier Science or Veterinary Medical Receptionist programs. On a larger scale we also offer Bachelor of Applied Science Degrees in:

- Agribusiness
- Production Horticulture
- Landscape Management
- Golf Course Management

The fourth year of studies in an applied science degree program involves a Directed Field Study element. What this means is that students are working within the industry for their complete fourth year. They develop individualized learning plans and complete the Directed Field Study based upon their learning goals.

Take it from one of our Fashion Marketing graduates hands-on learning is the only way to learn.

“I am currently the woman’s wear stylist on the visual team for the dynamic and fashionable Canadian company, Holt Renfrew. The Fashion Marketing program at Olds College was thorough, insightful and truly the best training to prepare me for this industry. The program is hands-on, fast paced and the homework load is actually quite similar to that of the industry. Did I mention it was Fun! Finally, the fact that you can attend the coolest classes, find an internship and have a great job all while being in the epicenter of the bustling city is pretty awesome. I’m all for Olds College.”
