La CitePublished in January 2012, a new review of previous studies suggests that there may be a positive relationship between physical activity and the academic performance of children and teenagers. *Healthy bodies, healthy minds… healthy social life? Indeed, structured physical activities, in addition to providing health benefits, can also be a great way for students to meet people and develop an active social life.

Beyond field of study and other considerations, prospective students would then be well-advised to consider health facilities and programs when choosing a postsecondary institution. - What facilities are offered?
- Is everything clean and well-maintained?
- How recent is the fitness equipment?
- What fitness classes, programs, and services are offered?
- What competitive sports teams does the school field?
- Is there a wide selection of intra-mural, non-competitive sports available?

La Cité collégiale, Ontario’s largest French-language college, is situated on a modern campus nestled among ample green space, yet only minutes away from downtown Ottawa. In collaboration with its students’ association, it offers a full-size gym, various well-equipped physical training rooms, five competitive sports teams, many other intra-mural sports, as well as a whole range of classes, programs and services, including (but not limited to!) zumba, yoga, cardio boot camp, personal training, and even a walking and running club!
