Tyndale University CollegeAs a first year student living on campus at Tyndale University College, I knew the next few years could be some of best of my life. I was told that getting involved with student life would be a key factor in a fulfilling university experience. But there are so many options: sports, drama, music and others. How would I choose?

To start off, I picked from the many options and ended up joining the intramural European Handball, Soccer and Floor Hockey teams. Through playing on the intramural sports teams I found a place to enjoy community and a competitive challenge — keeping me engaged and active within the Tyndale community.

While I enjoyed the sports, some of my friends who were more inclined towards the arts got involved in a variety of ways. Some had the opportunity of starring roles in the annual Tyndale dramatic productions, and in DRIME, the outreach drama program which performs in the heart of downtown Toronto.

Yet another aspect that sets Tyndale apart is the unique faith element. Through attending Bible studies and prayer groups organized by my peers, as well as hearing stories of friends’ experiences at different volunteering opportunities, I was encouraged and inspired in my personal faith journey.

In addition, there are many leadership opportunities, such as student council, event planning and worship teams—which I am a part of. These ways to get involved with the vibrant life of Tyndale has made university an unforgettable, challenging and enjoyable experience for myself and my friends.
