Clubbing takes on a whole new meaning at Lakeland College.

Student clubs help to develop long-lasting friendships with like-minded people and delve deeply into collaborative projects,”says Robin Lagroix-Mclean, faculty club advisor. “Our students are passionate leaders and their energy and enthusiasm for making a difference is refreshing.”

What are some activities that Lakeland students get to do as student club members?

Explore global agriculture- Students in the Ag Tour Club went to Brazil last year to experience agriculture South American style. Highlights of the trip included visits to a Case International/New Holland combine factory, a sugar cane plantation, and a 1,400-acre citrus and rubber tree farm.

Rev up the horsepower – Lakeland’s Rodeo Club has been going strong for over 40 years. The Rodeo Club is one of the most popular clubs at the Vermilion campus. Members have access to heated indoor facilities, great stock and scholarships. The club also supports Lakeland College’s competitive Rodeo Team that has several national championship titles under their belts.

It’s easy & fun to be green- Students don’t have to be tree huggers to join Lakeland College’s Enviro Club but they do learn a lot of great ways to promote and be kinder to the environment. And they have a lot of fun. Annual club activities include the Green Cup Street Hockey Challenge and the annual curling Greenspiel.

And there’s more. From ballroom dance, outdoor recreation, sport, music, drama, spiritual needs and more, there is something for everyone. Go to www.lakelandcollege.ca/campus-life/clubs to learn more.
