University of WaterlooThe University of Waterloo is a launch pad to international experiences. Gain international work experience on a co-op term, study abroad on an exchange, or volunteer in countries such as Peru.

Unlike other schools, Waterloo offers you the chance to get an international experience while earning money by getting a co-op job in another country. With the world’s largest co-op program, we have connections with 4,500 employers in 63 different countries. Every year, 1,400 of our co-op students find work internationally. Waterloo even has a special connection with the Canadian European Union, called CANEU CO-OP, which allows Waterloo students to work in either Austria or Germany.

If you’re not in co-op, no worries! There are study exchanges and volunteer experiences you can do instead. Volunteer with a non-profit organization, Solidarity in Action, and take a trip to Peru to learn about social justice and community development projects.

Pursue part of your degree internationally through Waterloo’s exchange program. You can spend 1 or 2 terms abroad (Waterloo has over 150 connections with universities around the world!) and the courses you take will count towards your degree requirements at Waterloo. By studying abroad, you’ll be able to experience different cultures first-hand, learn a new language, and go beyond the classroom to develop your skills.

You can also combine international experiences to earn a Global Experience Certificate as part of your degree. Through this process, you’ll expand your horizons, learn from direct experience, and make a difference in the world.

In anything you want to do, Waterloo has the resources and services available to help you.
