Online Cardio Tech Program Provides Flexibility Across Canada

You’ve checked out options, looked at job postings, volunteered, and you know you want to be a Cardiology Technologist. How do you pick a school when there are only 6 in Canada offering the program and none are in your Province?

The answer is to take an online program that offers course work through online learning and forum-based communities,along with in-person labs and practicum. Stenberg College offers the Cardiology Technologist program across Canada with regional lab partners in Calgary, Winnipeg, and Halifax. Students learn material online via readings, assignments, live online sessions with classmates and instructors, videos, and more. Lab sessions provide much needed experience with equipment and procedures, to put into practice everything learned online. The 3-month practicum is the culmination of theory and practical skills, giving students the real-world experience that employers look for.

Living in other provinces, students have access to all of the Student Support Services and Graduate & Career Services that Stenberg offers so students feel like part of the student body, even though they may be hundreds of kilometres away.

A Registration Exam Prep course is included, preparing graduates to pass the required national exam. Through an articulation agreement with Thompson Rivers University Open Learning, graduates receive 45 credits in TRU-OL’s Bachelor of Health Science Degree enabling them broaden their education and build their skills.

Stenberg College's Cardiology Technologist Program is recognized by the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) and our classroom-based program in Surrey, BC and combined delivery program in Calgary, AB have both been accorded a 6-year accreditation status by the Canadian Medical Association (CMA). Stenberg College has registered for the CMA Accreditation of the Winnipeg-based offering of the Cardiology Technologist Combined Delivery Program, with assessment tentatively scheduled for June 2013.
