Welcome back students! The lazy summer days are over and classes have begun. Wondering how you’ll make it through? Are assignments pilling up already? Here’s a run-down of our TOP 5 study tips.

1. Use your resources: You don’t need to reinvent the wheel. Find out if your university has a student success center and book an appointment with a counsellor or student mentor. These appointments are often one-on-one sessions so you get the attention you need. Book your appointment and get the best advice from your mentor.

2. Find a quiet space: Pick a space with minimal distractions, gadgets and people. The library offers a quiet space for you to fully engage with your work rather than your surroundings.

3. Turn off your devices!: Chances are every time you hear your device chime, you pounce! If you have a deadline or need some concentration, press the vibrate button and put your phone out of eye sight.

4. Print the power point slides: Can’t remember what the professor said? Missed that important stat? Logon to your student portal and print the professor’s power point presentation before the next class. Write down key facts in bullet form on each slide during class and be ahead of the game!

5. Colour coordinate: Highlighters, post-its, and coloured pens can help with organizing your notes.
