Rhode Wellness CollegeIn September many of us return to school and most students agree that marks matter. Most of us don’t learn these skills in school (although we should). Here are some of the best study tips for students:

1. Know yourself. Study at your best time of day and in your preferred environment. You may be a morning person and you may need music or absolute quiet. Maybe a coffee shop works better than home. Make it a priority to set your best environment.

2. Trust yourself. You were smart enough to get admitted to College and you are smart enough to graduate. Have some faith and if you haven’t already, take our Ten Day Wellness Challenge and get more balance in your life!

3. Procrastination is okay! You know you will get the task done – eventually. If you need a little extra pressure to get the paper written – go ahead and leave it until the last moment. It may just be your style.

4. Find some smart friends. Study groups can work well, as long as your friends are as committed as you are. Social support can make College life much richer.

5. Prioritize your time and commitments. The most important thing right now is to carve out the time to be a successful student. This means being able to say no to competing commitments. College is an investment in time, money and your future – so make it worthwhile.
