Thompson Rivers UniversityAre you just now deciding that you want to attend university in September? Did you only apply to one University and not get accepted? If so, the good news is that you can still submit your application to Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC.

The regular application deadline for many programs was April 30th, 2012, but TRU continues to accept applications throughout the summer and will admit students to programs, if there is still a space available. Degree programs such as the Bachelor of Arts, Science, Business, and Computing Science are considered to be Open Admission programs, meaning the basic requirements for admission is completion of BC Grade 12 (or equivalent) and English 12 with 73% (or equivalent). If you don’t meet these requirements, Open Admission also allows you to simultaneously upgrade any required high school courses that you may need.

Programs such as Tourism Management, Digital Art and Design, Human Service Diploma, Early Childhood Education, Culinary Arts, Retail Meat Processing, or Health Care Assistant are all Limited Admission programs. This means that there is no specific application deadline, and admission is given to first applied, first qualified students. Even though you are applying later in the year, there still might be a spot for you in these programs at TRU!

If you are interested in Selective Admission (competitive) programs such as Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Animal Health Technology or Engineering Transfer, unfortunately the deadlines have passed for admission starting September 2012. However, the good news is that you can still apply to first year university and take a year of classes which will help strengthen your application for next year. This will also give you a better idea of what it takes to be successful in university.

Applying to TRU is easy. Visit www.tru.ca/apply to apply on-line or to print off a paper application. For just $25.50 you could be starting university this September!
