University of GuelphMove-in day is in one month! Almost 4000 students will be meeting new friends and finding their niche. They will be getting involved in any multitude of extra-curricular activities and laying the foundation for an enriching and ultimately more successful university experience.

Exciting orientation and pre-orientation opportunities offered by University of Guelph’s Centre for New Students and Student Life departments help to prepare students for their new learning environment, and set the stage for the multitude of extra-curricular opportunities available both on campus and throughout the Guelph community. Orientation Week’s crown jewel is the pep-rally, which showcases the passion for volunteerism and campus involvement shared by so many who enroll here.

In 2011-12, the University of Guelph’s Athletic Centre recorded a whopping 14, 998 participants in its ever-popular intramural program, ranging from basketball to soccer to water-polo. Beyond the competitive atmosphere of athletics, Guelph’s Central Student’s Association also offers all students the opportunity to join and participate in over 150 student-run clubs on campus. Club Days are held at the start of each semester and allow students to meet representatives from each club, the likes of which include juggling, photography, humanitarian causes, performing arts, and religious and cultural clubs.

With such a selection of volunteer and recreational activities available at Guelph, the only daunting task may be figuring out what to try first!
