The University of Waterloo offers the world’s largest co-operative education program with over 3,500 employers around the globe! Students alternate 4 month school terms with 4- or 8-month paid work terms gaining up to 2 years of work experience.

Since work terms are paid, co-op can help pay your way through school. Our co-op students earn from $25,000 to $74,000 over the course of their work terms. They have smaller student loans than other students and are more successful at paying them back.

As a co-op student at Waterloo, you apply to jobs that interest you, so you can pick the type of experience you’d like to gain. And there’s a bonus when you start your career – graduates of co-op programs typically earn 15% more upon graduation than graduates of non-co-op programs.

The co-op student employment rate has been very high in previous years and was 93% for 2011. Other reasons to chose co-op at Waterloo?
