With dozens of universities to choose from, hundreds of majors, and thousands of pages of information to look at, the application process can be a daunting task. It doesn’t have to be. There are ways to cut down the time you spend on the application process so you can spend time on other things.

Deciding a major:
Choosing a major can be a time consuming task. Often first-year students have too many subjects they would like to explore to fit in to one major. Most people change majors at least once and interests can change drastically during the first year of university. You may find yourself loving that elective you decided to try out, but hating that core course in your major. Apply to a broad selection of majors and consider applying as an undeclared major. Also, some universities offer one year introductions to university, like Tyndale’s Leading Edge.

Choosing a school:
Instead of stressing over which major to choose, think of the universities you want to attend. Narrow them down based on location: “Where you want to go?” And size: “Do you want to be a face in a crowd or an individual in a community?”

Applying:
Many schools have costly applications and receive many more applications than they accept. Large schools can leave you waiting for a response. Many small schools, like Tyndale University College, offer free applications and the opportunity to talk to admissions representatives to get information and help with your application. Apply to Tyndale today.
