Applying to any university can be an overwhelming and daunting task; however the key to being successful with applying is to start early! Many universities start accepting applications as early as October for the following September. Being prepared and starting early will ensure that you have enough time to do research and to meet important dates and deadlines.

At TRU we make applying easy, with today’s technology applying to TRU will only take 5 minutes out of your day. Every year TRU begins accepting applications for the following academic year on October 1st. Students can apply online at www.tru.ca or directly through www.applybc.ca. Of course, paper applications are available and can be found at http://www.tru.ca/new_students/counsellors.html. With our application fee being only $25.50 – it won’t cost you an arm and a leg! Once your application is received by TRU, a letter will be sent to you outlining other documents that may be required for admission such as reference letters, letters of intent, volunteer hours, and etcetera.

Generally for most programs, March 1st is the Early Application Deadline and April 30th is the Regular Application Deadline. By applying before March 1st, students will get an early registration date based on their overall GPA from their grade 12 year. Exceptions to note in regards to application deadlines are the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (January 15th) and the Animal Health Technology Diploma (February 15th). Starting the application process early will ensure that you have the best possible chance of getting a spot in the program of your choice.
