The key to success in your courses here at any college or university is not unlike what you need to do to maintain good personal hygiene. Just as you use SOAP to keep clean, you need to remember to SOAP UP in your STUDY HABITS.

Study often and take thorough
Organized notes.
Ask questions and listen to your professors/ librarians/ fellow students for advice.
Plan ahead for a balanced schedule of study, good diet, recreation and rest!

Use time wisely and be actively
Present in class. Participate in class discussions.

Come visit your local library daily for quiet study, research and for encouragement in using SOAP. There you will be sure to find study carrels / comfortable furniture for personal study as well as quiet study rooms which can be booked for group study and discussion. Help can be found on your library’s website.

Horizon College is part of the Saskatoon Theological Union and an affiliated college of the University of Saskatchewan and students here are welcome and encouraged to use the resources available at the Learning Commons in the Murray Library on campus , where the help centre offers help with writing, research, time management skills for FREE. The University Learning Centre’s website also offers some time management strategies and a Peer Assisted Learning program. Make sure to check out the online Research Paper Planner too! If you do all those things, your time at college or university is bound to be successful!
