Jump the Line and Orientation at Thompson Rivers University

TRU Orientation and Jump the Line helps students to become familiar with our campus, meet and greet with professors, interact with peers and enjoy a free BBQ!

Jump the Line

In the first few weeks of university you can expect to see long line-ups at the registrar’s office, the cashier, academic advising and the bookstore. With such busy schedules as a first year student, why would you want to stand in line all day? TRU has a solution, 'Jump the Line' and get everything done early!
There are many services open to students over the long weekend to get ready for your first day of university. Starting Sunday September 4, 2011 you can visit; the Student Services Reception Area to get any questions answered that you may have, visit The Welcome Centre for a tour of the campus, Academic Advising to get help choosing classes, visit the TRU Bookstore to pick up your textbooks and purchase school supplies and much more.

Orientation

This year, fall orientation is going to be bigger and better than ever! Our Orientation team is working hard on creating a fun, exciting and smooth transition for new students. New students are going to be blown away with high energy activities and resources that will help them be successful in their upcoming years at our university. Visit us on Tuesday, September 6th at the Tournament Capital Centre to become oriented before school!   

You can expect to see a welcome from the President and Deans upon arrival. Participate in an Academic Open House where you will be able to learn more about your program and meet other students that will be studying in the same program. There will be a resource fair so that you can learn about all of the great services and events that are open to students, and of course the FREE BBQ, games and FREE giveaways.
