Going back to school is something everyone has experienced, time and time again. Starting university or college is exciting and challenging. For anyone moving away, there is likely heaviness in your heart as you drive through town, knowing you won't be back for awhile. This heaviness though, is combated with an even bigger feeling of anticipation. There are many questions for this big leap. If your school has a page designed for incoming students, make sure you go through it. Bishop's website has a multitude of videos, blogs and pictures all from a student perspective that offer insight on the university experience.

You are going to have your first space away from home. Unfortunately, your mom won't always be there to pick up your laundry or tidy up. On the other hand, you are free to decorate how you please and leave it a little messy. It's all up to you! A tidy room is a good way to keep things organized. Checking out videos like What Not to Forget, from real students, will give you a better idea of what you actually need. Be realistic when packing. Do you really need seven white t-shirts?

Many people will offer the same words of advice: avoid procrastination, keep an agenda and do your reading. Get out and meet people. Some students who have offered a very real insight on their experiences at Bishop's University can all agree on one thing: these are days you've been dreaming of -- make them count.
