Since you’ve probably never had to apply to university before, we at University of Toronto Scarborough are giving you some helpful tips: 4 things you should never do when applying to U of T!

1. Don’t read the viewbook
Reading the U of T Scarborough viewbook might seem like a lot of work but don’t skip this essential first step! Our viewbook has all the information you’ll need to know about our application process, academic programs, and all of the cool stuff we have to offer!

2. Don’t check the website
The more informed you are as an applicant, the greater your chances of getting admitted so be sure to review our Admissions and Student Recruitment website! Along with all of the stuff you can find in our viewbook, it has more detailed information about the application process, deadlines, and admission requirements. While online, you can take a virtual tour, book campus tours online, and watch our YouTube videos.

3. Don’t send us your profile or supplementary application forms
All applicants to U of T Scarborough have to complete either a CTEP Applicant Profile (for those that have applied to the Concurrent Teacher Education program), or a Supplementary Application Form (for all other programs). These forms can be just as valuable as academic information, like grades or courses, because they give you a chance to show us why you would be a good fit for our programs.

4. Don’t ask questions
The most important thing you can do as an applicant is ask questions if you’re unsure! You can go online to our website and Ask Us for help or you can give our Admissions and Student Recruitment office a call. You can even talk to a current student about what it’s like to study at U of T Scarborough, by emailing Ask a Student!

If you decide to take our advice and avoid the mistakes highlighted above, applying to the University of Toronto will be a lot easier!
