Completing Your Dental Hygiene Application

With the Canadian Institute of Dental Hygiene Inc. (CIDH) accepting applications for its accredited dental hygiene program that will begin on February 14, 2011, now is the time to begin preparing for your application. CIDH is located in Hamilton, Ontario.

Make sure that you have met the necessary academic prerequisites or are enrolled in the necessary courses. To be considered for admission to CIDH, applicants educated in Ontario must have graduated with their high school diploma (or equivalent) and have successfully completed the following courses:

Grade 12 English (U), (C), (A) or (G)
Grade 11 Biology (U), (C), (A) or (G)
Grade 11 or 12 Chemistry or Physics (U), (C), (A) or (G)

CIDH accepts many applicants from outside Ontario.  To be considered for admission to CIDH, Canadian applicants from outside of Ontario must have graduated with their high school diploma and successfully completed their province’s equivalent of the above courses.

Attention applicants from western Canada.  You are not required to complete university pre-qualifying courses before being considered for admission.

You can also apply as a mature student under the following criteria:

1. Will be at least 19 years of age in the calendar year in which admission is sought
2. Mature applicants who lack the academic admission requirements may be considered on an individual basis. 
3. Persons applying as mature students must still write the mandatory Pre-admissions test.

All applicants to CIDH are required to write a preadmissions test. Testing for the February 2011 program will take place as follows:
