With the intense programs offered at triOS, it is difficult for students to get on the honour role. However, many triOS students have been able to accomplish this goal.  We thought we would ask them their proven study techniques and share them with you.  Here is a list of the top ten things you can do to achieve success in school:

1. Get enough sleep: Try to get at least seven hours of sleep. Getting sufficient sleep will help you focus in school.
2. Take clear, concise notes: Go for quality, not quantity. It is best to make your own notes, don’t copy off of someone else.
3. Don't fall behind: Get assignments done when they're assigned. It is a good idea to set goals; this will keep you motivated throughout your program.
4. Go in for extra help with teachers: Most will appreciate your motivation to learn the material.
5. Give yourself plenty of time to study: This will give you plenty of time to read everything and ask questions about anything you don’t fully understand.
6. Start studying the most challenging first:  Start with the most difficult sections and move on from there.
7. Look at the titles, heading and subheadings: Are there any bolded words? Write these down. These are key words, and they are great indicators to help you know what the material is about.
8. If you get a bad grade on a test or assignment, don't freak out: Ask your teacher about the questions you got wrong if you don't understand them.
9. Go to review sessions when teachers offer: The review questions that they ask will be similar to the ones on the test.
10. Stay Positive: Having the right attitude can do wonders for you and your grades.
