The recently troubled economy has had a far reaching effect. Students are in need of financial aid more than ever and post-secondary financial aid funds have been hit by the market downturn.

In order to ensure that students have every opportunity, Seneca’s Student Federation answered an emergency appeal for funds for financial aid by contributing $100,000 to help support their fellow students.

The donation will support more than 400 scholarships and bursaries awarded to students.

“On behalf of all Senecans, I want to thank the Federation for this extraordinary generosity,” said David Agnew, Seneca’s president. “This could not have come at a better time, and is a great boost to student success.”

"The Seneca Student Federation is proud to participate in this fundraiser because we feel that it’s important to support our fellow students and the Seneca community,” said Oscar A. Bobadilla, President, Seneca Student Federation Inc. “We are aware of the current economic situation and have decided to give back for this reason. All of us are extremely proud to be Seneca students and hope that with this donation we are leading by example."
