Getting Ready for Your Dental Hygiene Application
With the Canadian Institute of Dental Hygiene Inc. (CIDH) now accepting applications for its Accredited dental hygiene program that will begin on February 1, 2010, now is the time to begin preparing for your application. CIDH is located in Hamilton, Ontario.
Make sure that you have met the necessary academic prerequisites or are enrolled in the necessary courses. To be considered for admission to CIDH, applicants educated in Ontario must have graduated with their high school diploma (or equivalent) and have successfully completed the following courses:
Grade 12 English (U), (C), (A) or (G)
Grade 11 Biology (U), (C), (A) or (G)
Grade 11 or 12 Chemistry or Physics (U), (C), (A) or (G)
CIDH accepts many applicants from outside Ontario. To be considered for admission to CIDH, Canadian applicants from outside of Ontario must have graduated with their high school diploma and successfully completed their province’s equivalent of the above courses.
Attention applicants from western Canada. You are not required to complete university pre-qualifying courses before being considered for admission.
CIDH receives many inquiries from people who have taken science and English courses at other academic institutions such as college and university and are wondering if these courses satisfy CIDH’s academic prerequisites. If you are in this situation, contact CIDH and our staff will be pleased to discuss your individual circumstances.
All applicants to CIDH are required to write a preadmissions test. Testing for the February 2010 program will take place at CIDH as follows:
November 6/09 2:00 p.m.
November 20/09 2:00 p.m.
November 27/09 2:00 p.m.
December 11/09 2:00 p.m.
Interviews will then take place for all applicants at CIDH on December 12, 2009.
