TRU Law School
Aspiring lawyers will soon have another choice when it comes to selecting a Law School – Thompson Rivers University.  The three-year, fully accredited LL.B. program is scheduled to accept its first cohort for September 2011.
The TRU Law School will help to bridge the gap between supply and demand for law training in the province – last year UBC and UVic collectively saw over 2,700 applications for their combined 316 seats.  40 additional seats will up for grabs at TRU, which is representative of the university’s commitment to smaller class sizes.
The partnership with the University of Calgary will see TRU license existing curriculum, with any necessary interprovincial modifications, and offer a joint degree.  TRU Law School announcement (http://www.tru.ca/marketing/mediareleases/2009/law_school.html).

Masters Programs
MBA
This accelerated 10-month program will be of particular interest to recent university graduates, as the program is targeted to those with little or no formal work experience.  The TRU MBA also has a strong international focus.  To find out more about the TRU MBA, including program structure, course descriptions, and admission and application information, visit http://www.tru.ca/business/mba.html.
Master of Science
With its geographical location, TRU is ideally suited to offer this degree, as it is in close proximity to a variety of ecosystems such as wetlands, lakes and rivers, mountains, forests, and grasslands.  There are also several provincial and national agencies within the Kamloops community with which there is collaborative potential.  For more on the M.Sc., check out http://www.tru.ca/science/msces.html.
Master of Education
This 30-month, part-time degree is designed for working professionals seeking educational leadership and is ideal for teachers and educators in health, business, industry, and government settings.   The research or project-based degree is encompassed in an experiential learning framework that includes independent study, web-based research, and mentorship. The next intake scheduled for 2011.

Under Development: Master of Social Work and Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies.
