The summer months can be full of opportunity. With longer days, warmer weather and sunshine, you might find yourself inspired and energized to explore new experiences, hobbies or courses that pique your interest.

Consider looking into summer offerings at your local college for short-term courses beginning in July and August.

For example, at Seneca College, if you have a creative side that is itching to get out, there are courses offered in Creative Photography where you learn to control light and gain a sense of composition and cropping. Advanced Floral Decor also teaches students about how to design baskets, wreaths and topiary. For an electronic expression of creativity, Seneca also offers courses in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

You may want to consider a course that relates to your career path or to learn a bit about another field. There are many programs offering these opportunities in the weeks ahead. For example, if you are interested in the engineering or construction industries, you might want to look at programs in Energy Efficiency - Large Buildings, Heating, or Air Conditioning for a leg up in the industry.

If you want to boost some of your skills before heading back to the classroom in the fall, there are some programs that might make your next full semester a little smoother. Seneca offers courses that teach valuable skills for any student, including Time Management, Sentence Structure, and Sentence Mechanics.

Whether you want to take the summer to relax, take up some hobbies, or enrol in some courses for professional development, the opportunities are there to be had.

For more information about the programs and services that Seneca offers, visit www.senecac.on.ca. With eight campuses across the GTA, Seneca provides internationally and nationally recognized career education and training key to graduate success in the global economy.  Seneca changes you.
